Mark McKinnon is best known for his Recurring Guest Star role (Donnell Costa) in seven episodes on Season 2 and 3 of the Paramount+ original series Mayor of Kingstown, sharing the screen with Jeremy Renner. He is also known for his Guest Star appearance as Davis on Michelle Buteau's Netflix Comedy Series, Survival of the Thickest, playing alongside actress Tasha Smith. He has recurred on 7 seasons of the CBS Primetime series Blue Bloods as Officer Miller. In the summer of 2020, he was leading man (Derik Dubois) in The Waiting Room , a BET movie for television directed by Emmy award-winner, Sheryl Lee Ralph. Some of his other credits include FBI (CBS), Gotham (FOX) and The Blacklist (NBC). Alongside various A-List names, Mark is an alumni of the 2020 ABC Disney Diversity Showcase in New York. Mark is theatrically repped by UIA Talent Agency (NY) and managed by Established Artists (LA).
Born on a Marine Corps base in North Carolina, Mark McKinnon was always an active child. A multi-sport athlete - including football, basketball, and cross country running - Mark still found the time to pursue the arts. Inspired by landing the lead role in his high school play, he turned down several football scholarships to attend Howard University in Washington, DC where he graduated with a BFA in Theatre Arts with a concentration in Acting. In New York, he continued his training with several prestigious acting coaches such as Rob McCaskill and Ted Sluberski.
In 2012, Mark opened his Private Coaching and Consultation business for actors, where he specialized in helping beginners start a professional career and taught actors, heavily trained in theatre, on how to transition into Film / TV. As of today, Mark has mentored and coached hundreds of actors. Through Mark's coaching and philosophy, several actors have booked paid acting jobs and have begun successful acting careers.
